IFX Racing – Finished 4th in Eastbourne.

At Eastbourne there were 4 races.
We got off to a flying start in the first race! We were in pole position, on the first lap absolutely flying and then the red flag was flown, and the race got canned, unfortunately there was a serious injury sustained by Jon Wilson in the Pertemps boat. which resulted in the first race being cancelled, due to the Paramedics being off the water.

Race 2, we had a reasonable race, finishing forth, but our start wasn’t as quick as the first race, and we had a really hard fight with boat 88 Palu, who gave us a real run for our money, and took a chunk out of the back of the boat on the final turn buoy!

Race 3, was Sunday morning, and we had another rocky start finishing 4th once again, spending most of the race without communication due to our comms system failing. The race gave us consistent results but not the results we wanted.

Race 4 saw us back on form! The sea was choppy and we flew again, holding the lead for the 1st lap, but unfortunately we lost comms AGAIN after hitting  big wave, and at the same time lost 2 positions, to Oval and Pickfords.
We had a really strong race even in the bad water, and a number of boats couldn’t hack it and failed, and we were having a strong battle with Typhoo, holding them back until the very last minute. We were on the final lap after seeing the white flag, and then our luck turned for the worse. We lost power in the boat… spluttering we came to a halt, and watched in dismay as the other boats streaked past us… Race 4 being a no finish for Team IFX Racing… We were set to finish 3rd, which would have pulled us up on points on to the podium…. Oh well Cowes next!
